Well, you’ve come to the right place.

YouTube reported that there were almost 2 BILLION active MONTHLY users, but that doesn’t mean your channel will take off from the start without some upfront time and work.

So if you are considering starting a YouTube Channel from scratch, now is the time to do it.

Before you create your YouTube channel, you must first create a plan of action otherwise you may lose focus of what you are trying to accomplish.

I am going to share with you my 6 best tips on how to plan a successful youtube channel.

6 STEP PLAN TO BECOME A YOUTUBE SUCCESS!

The plan is simple to complete, but many do not write it down and stick to it.

I want you to have a strategy going into this, you want your channel to become something long term thinking 2 to 5 years at a minimum or longer.

So you will need to write and answer these next 6 questions.

These questions will help your channel reach its full potential from the start and stay focused.

OK, let’s go ahead and start with the 6 questions.

1. WHO ARE YOU CREATING VIDEOS FOR?

What type of audience are you looking to draw in and speak to?

Are you looking to teach something generic such as health, cooking, or business, or make it specific, down to a type of food, hobby, and activity?

My YouTube channel’s main focus is to show others how to make money through online businesses, stock markets, and real estate along with saving money along the way.

2. WHEN WILL YOU RECORD, AND PUBLISH NEW VIDEOS?

What day of the week, or month will you record and upload to Youtube in order to keep yourself consistent?

Consistency is key on YouTube, at the minimum you will want to publish 1 video per week.

I have seen other channels record every 1 month, but this can be pushing it.

Especially if you are just starting, having new videos out monthly can really drag the growth of your views and subscribers and the channel overall.

Creating a content planner can help you out, by writing down what topics you will be covering, and when you plan to record, edit, and publish you will be more likely to stick to the schedule.

Just be sure to write these days down in your content planner BEFORE you start.

3. WHY DO YOU WANT TO START A YOUTUBE CHANNEL

Who is the main focus of your channel, and what do you plan to accomplish with your channel?

Are you growing a Brand?

Are YOU the Brand, that will become an Influencer?

Do you have an existing business where you will use YouTube to sell your products?

Are you looking to grow a community, and teach others?

4. WHAT KIND OF VIDEOS DO YOU WANT TO CREATE?

What videos will make you happy and be fun for both you and your audience?

There are many types of videos on YouTube.

From the how-to tutorials, vlog-style, crafting, adventure, and reviews, the list goes on and on.

Once you know the answer to this question, you will have a better idea of the longevity of your channel and will be able to get started a bit faster.

5. HOW LONG DO YOU PLAN TO BE ON YOUTUBE?

Are the types of videos you are planning to create something you can do long term say 2-5 years with a new video out based on your schedule?

If you are releasing 1 video per week, that’s 52 videos in a year.

That is over 100 videos over the course of 2 years, and so on.  Make sure the types of videos are something that can stay fresh.

YouTube is not a start-and-go platform, you will not automatically monetize your videos, but there are other ways to make money without monetization enabled.

Swiveling after you have built up an audience is fine if YOU are the brand and the reason the audience is subscribed to your YouTube channel.

If you have a brand or specific niche, making a transition from health and workouts to traveling and cars, may not work out too well.

6. CHOOSE YOUR CAMERA, LIGHT, AUDIO, & EDITOR.

Do you have a phone?

It’s OK to use what you have, you do not have to buy anything fancy when starting on YouTube.

Start by using your mobile phone, natural sunlight, and your headphones with a microphone.

iMovie can be downloaded on iPhones and has everything you need as a new video creator as the go-to editor.

FilmoraGo is an app that is available on both iPhones and Android that I’ve seen many Youtubers use.

As your channel gets monetized and generates income, you can level up your equipment for your YouTube channel.
